Thanksgiving at Bienvenidos Food Bank
As we reflect on the meaning of Thanksgiving, we give thanks to the help of so many who supported Generator Real Estate’s Turkey Drive. As a result of this community generosity, we collected 101 turkeys that have been distributed to the families served by Bienvenidos Food Bank. A last-minute donation from UNFI in Aurora pushed us just over our goal. We are so proud to be a part of a community that supports the true spirit of the season. Every turkey counted!
This is one of the busiest times of the year for Bienvenidos. As a result of the donations, the food bank served almost 250 Northwest Denver clients. For some, this was the first year clients have ever received a turkey because of refrigeration challenges for the food bank in the past. Greg Pratt, Executive Director, noted, ” With the help of Little Man Ice Cream’s freezers we were able to distribute turkeys for the first time this year.”
The Bienvenidos Food Bank has been helping Northwest neighbors in need for over forty years. Their Mission is to provide emergency and supplemental food assistance in ways that promote respect and dignity. Their Vision is a community equipped with the tools and resources to move beyond hunger and toward greater independence. We are proud to support them.
