Crush Walls 2018

2018 will be a defining year for Colorado’s largest independent graffiti and street art project: CRUSH (Creative Rituals Under Social Harmony). After a 2017 Meow Wolf sponsorship and officially partnering with the RiNo Art District, CRUSH will be expanded to a week-long event, and access to new resources has opened up channels to attract many artists from the international street art community.

Since it’s first unofficial event in 2010, CRUSH has been colorfully taking over the alleys of RiNo. Originally centered around the EXDO Event Center, the event relocated after three years to the long alley between 27th/26th & Larimer and Walnut Street, now dubbed “Art Alley.” The majority of this year’s walls will still be found in central RiNo, but will also include nearby neighborhoods.

The 2018 installation will take place September 3rd-9th. This new partnership with RiNo Art District will result in 25 blocks of 77 eye catching installations. With so much art, here’s what we are looking out for this year:

Shepard Fairey –  His famous “HOPE” poster, supporting the Obama campaign, is just a taste of his artwork. You’ll be able to find two walls with his artwork this year.

Secret Walls – With 90 minutes to finish the piece in a secret location, teams will compete to complete their piece in front of a live audience.

Laurence Vallieres – the Canadian sculptor will install her acclaimed, large-scale cardboard sculptures in RiNo.
